If you are not sure which tooth is the problem, that is normal — the student will judge it after an examination and an X-ray. As a rule of thumb, the front teeth and the two just behind them have a single canal, while the molars at the back have several.
The distinction matters because a single-canal tooth is treated more quickly and usually needs fewer visits.

If the X-ray shows more canals than expected, the case may turn out not to suit that particular exercise. That is not a rejection — it simply belongs to a different category.
