First visit to a faculty: what to bring and what to expect

Allow more time than for an ordinary appointment — and do not schedule anything straight afterwards. Bring identification, a list of the medicines you take, and any older X-rays or records. If you cannot attend, cancel in advance.
What to bring
- Identification.
- A list of the medicines you take — including blood thinners and supplements.
- Older X-rays and records from previous treatment, if you have them.
- For a child: a parent or guardian who stays for the whole visit.
How much time to allow
More than you expect. A visit to a teaching clinic runs longer because the supervising teacher checks each stage. Do not book an important meeting straight afterwards, and do not arrive with half an hour to spare.
What you must mention
- Chronic conditions.
- Allergies, including to medicines and latex.
- Pregnancy, or the possibility of it.
- Whether you take blood thinners.
- Whether you have fainted or felt unwell during medical procedures.
If you cannot attend
Cancel in advance through the platform. The student has reserved time and equipment specifically for your case, and a no-show without warning costs somebody a teaching opportunity that does not come back.
